Handgun Permits
Applications must be completed online.

1. Complete application online.
2. Schedule fingerprinting appointment online or call 877-472-6917. Pay fingerprint fee online, over the phone, or bring a check or money order to your appointment. The fee for fingerprinting is $10.50.
3. Visit local law enforcement agency to complete the final step for your application.
Persons 18 years and older who live within the city limits of Frankfort should contact the Frankfort Police Department to complete the final step for their application.
Persons 18 years and older who live within the town limits of Colfax, Kirklin, Michigantown, Mulberry and Rossville should contact their town marshal to complete the final step of their application.
All other residents, 18 years and older, residing in Clinton County may complete the process at the Clinton County Sheriff's Office. This process can be completed Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, except government holidays. The office is closed for lunch from 12p-1p.
Applicants must be within 365 days of their current application expiration before applying for a new permit.
